This book is an adult coloring book with color by number. It’s actually for people of all ages and is designed for beginners or those looking for easier (not so busy) designs to color. For each design there are 3 pages: a numbered version of the design, and un-numbered version of the design and a swatch page. The swatch page is designed to let you experiment with different color combinations. There are the numbers listed with a suggested color. There are also 2 quarter sections of the design to encourage you to experiment with your own color combinations. The numbered design page is the color by number page so you can use the colors suggested on the swatch page or those you decided to use. (Note the numbers will show through.) The third page is an un-numbered version of the design. This page is designed so you can color the design without having numbers show through or for those who don’t want to use the color by number approach. The back cover has a list of the color names and an example of each color. The names listed are from Berol Prismacolor pencils. These are really nice expensive pencils. It is recommended to just pick any brand of colored pencils and just match those pencils to a color listed. Stress relieving. EXCELLENT for BEGINNERS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and Relaxing!

By Sam Gaskill on February 18, 2016

I have been looking for an adult coloring book recently and I came across this one. I just got it in the mail the other day and I already love it! It’s very relaxing, which is nice after a stressful day at work. There are a lot of different designs that you can choose from, depending on your mood. I’m not very imaginative with my colors, so I like the designs that have the numbers to help you to create a colorful look. The numbers are very clear and legible, the designs have clean lines and they are not blurry or fuzzy. This was well worth the money and I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat Coloring Book

Recently, I started getting my husband coloring books. I know, it seems like an odd thing to purchase for a grown man, but he experiences a few forms of anxiety and the repetitive, almost soothing motions of filling in the white spaces calms him almost as well as his medication. These images are suitably complex without being frustrating. The design borders are also very crisp and legible, not blurred as what happens with some other lesser quality books.
As for the designs themselves, what really sets this coloring book apart from the rest is that you get two copies of each image. One is a plain black and white design, for you to color at will. The other design is labeled with several numbers. The numbers are clear and easy to read. The numbers correspond to what the book calls a “swatch page” on the back, which basically tells you what colors look best within the design. The swatches are quite self-explanatory and easy to follow. This way you can color one design according to the swatches, and go crazy with the other image – maybe color it in all neon bright colors, shades of gray…you get the idea.
A side benefit—one that I certainly never considered in a coloring book—is that the designs are suitable for artwork. My daughter has already picked out her favorites, colored them in various shades of pink and purple, and hung them up around her room. The only detriment I see is when she runs out of wall space and these images creep into the kitchen and family room. All in all, a this was a great purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth the money! Really fun designs.

I purchased this book for my girlfriend to do while I was working on homework. The pictures provided are complex and fun. The book came in the mail today, perfect timing since I have a lot of Calculus and Statistics homework due this week. She didn’t have the book more than 10 minutes and was already working on her first one. Seriously fun book! I believe my favorite one so far is the seahorse! Definitely worth the money!
